Welker goes on Patriots' active PUP list

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The
New England Patriots placed two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Wes Welker on the active physically unable to perform list Tuesday as he continues his strong recovery from knee surgery. The
Patriots made the move two days before they open training camp, and
there's a chance that Welker could come off the list by then and
participate in drills. If he stays on it, it could allow other
receivers who are trying to make the team more opportunities in

Owens agrees to one-year, $2M deal with Bengals

Get your popcorn ready, Cincinnati: Terrell Owens
is coming to town.
Owens, the outspoken wide receiver and reality TV star, agreed to a one-year
contract with the Bengals, a team source told NFL Network insider Michael
Lombardi on Tuesday.
NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora confirmed that Owens will be paid $2
million in base salary and could earn an additional $2 million in incentives.
Owens received $6.5 million from the Buffalo Bills

Titan Sues Kiffin, USC for stealing assistant

The Tennessee Titans
are suing USC football coach Lane Kiffin and the school for
"maliciously" luring away running backs coach Kennedy Pola just one
week before training camp,
The Tennessean first reported Monday.
Tennessee Football Inc., the company that owns the Titans, filed the lawsuit
Monday in Davidson County Chancery Court. The suit accuses Kiffin and
USC of violating Pola's contract, which required him to have written
