Scott's Analysis
Wes Welker Injury Update
July 25, 2010

According to reports Wes Welker looks like he will be attending the Patriots camp when it opens this week. If Welker is healthy enough to start the season, his fantasy value shoots way up. While he is not a sexy pick, he does deserve to be selected among the top 10 wide receivers. If you look at his stats, especially in a league that gives points for receptions, the numbers will backup my statement. In 2007, he had 112 catches for 1,175 yards, 111 receptions & 1,165 yards in 2008, and last year 123 catches for 1,348 yards. There is not one receiver over the last three years that has more receptions.

The next receiver is Brandon Marshall with 307. When looking at yardage only Andre Johnson (3,995), Larry Fitzgerald (3,938), Reggie Wayne (3,919), Randy Moss (3,765), and Brandon Marshall(3,710), have more compared to Welker at 3,688 yards. If he is healthy and you need a wide receiver in the 3rd or 4th round grab him. (developing story…)
